3 days F/U CT shows gastric varixwith uptake of lipidol(arrow) and without enhacement.	Gastric varixis no longer seen on eight months F/U CT.

Upper endoscopy 105 days after BRTO. Normal gastric mucosa. No gastric varixor evidence of portal gastropathy

In this retrospective study consisting of three patients, balloon-occluded retrograde transvenous obliteration (BRTO) can be a successful alternative treatment of gastric varices in patients with portal vein thrombosis who are ineligible for TIPS
