Scepter C TM Dual-Lumen Neurovascular Micro-catheter

A 64-year-old with fibromuscular dysplasia and presented with worsening renal  function and a progressively enlarging 2cm, wide-necked renal artery  aneurysm.

He had a single left kidney following a right nephro-ureterectomy(肾-输尿管切除术) for  transitional cell cancer

Following discussion of both open surgical and catheter-based treatment  options, the patient chose to proceed with the endovascular approach

CTA demonstrating a solitary left kidney with 2cm saccular  aneurysm (arrow) arising from the left renal artery anterior  division (arrow head)
Volume-rendered three dimensional image reconstructed from  CT angiography demonstrating an aneurysm arising from the left  renal artery anterior division (arrow) just distal to the left renal  artery bifurcation

Selective angiography of the left renal artery anterior division  (arrow head) confirming the presence of a 2cm wide-necked  saccular ['sækjʊlə]  aneurysm (arrow). The parent artery demonstrates a  beaded appearance suggestive of fibromuscular dysplasia
Re-modelling of the wide-necked TRAA using the Scepter C  balloon (arrow) with contrast media injection showing no flow  within the aneurysm sac or in the distal anterior artery division.

Re-modelling of the wide-necked TRAA using the Scepter C  balloon (arrow) with contrast media injection showing no flow  within the aneurysm sac or in the distal anterior artery division.
CT angiography at 3 months demonstred  persistent occlusion of the TRAA sac with normal  solitary kidney parenchymal enhancement.

His renal function normalised following the  procedure,. He remains well at follow up.

Trans-arterial coil embolization of a renal artery aneurysm  in a patient with a solitary kidney was successfully  performed using the Scepter C TM dual-lumen neurovascular  balloon micro-catheter.
